Pastel as a Medium

I contend that soft pastel is an overlooked medium, typically used in plein-air art, and rarely employed for contemporary art.

This seems to me to be an opportunity, with the broad range of vivid soft pastel pigments. My preferred soft pastel brand is Sennelier, and my preferred paper stock is Rives BFK heavyweight cotton paper, both made in Paris, France.
